Workshops will be based around the themes of the Angus Tourism Framework, with suggested questions below to guide discussions.

Marketing

Aim: To promote Angus as a responsible visitor destination to local, domestic, and international visitors over the next 12-18 months. 

1. Do you actively engage in the Visit Angus marketing activity? If not, why not?

2. What marketing do you currently undertake? Do you have a marketing budget/plan?

3. What marketing channels do you use?

4. How do you measure success?

5. Who are your customers now? Do you collect customer data and how do you use this? Would you be willing to share this with Angus Council?

6. Do you have any campaign suggestions for Angus? These should link to consumer trends and encourage seasonal spread.

Product & Experience Development

Aim: To deliver innovative and inspirational products and experiences for all visitors to Angus.

1. Do you use customer insights to inform your product and experience development? How important is it to understand your customers?

2. What are the challenges around product development? E.g., Price, Quality Understanding your customers, Collaboration with other businesses, Policy (e.g., planning, Short-Term Lets).

3. Do you engage with travel trade? Do you see this as an opportunity? What barriers, if any, exist?

4. How do you ensure you are discoverable as a business? E.g., using Tour Operators or Online Tour Operators, online booking, website/digital presence, SEO (Search Engine Optimisation), Google listings, dynamic content, video.

Pride of Place

Aim: To harness the positivity and ambition of local communities to share their pride of Angus with visitors. 

1. In what way is place important in tourism development? I.e., to the visitor experience and/or to the local community?

2. What is your role in place making/what are you doing to engage with your local communities and stakeholders to shape the Angus narrative and to build a strong sense of place for visitors and locals?

3. Does Angus and/or the communities of Angus have a strong sense of place?

4. What actions should we be delivering to promote a strong sense of place?

Industry Leadership & Collaboration

Aim: To promote a collaborative approach to identifying opportunities for growth and for delivering support, strengthen the role of the ATC and improve the capabilities of tourism businesses.
