By Royal Holloway, University of London

Overview

Inaugural Lecture of Professor Alexandra Palombi

This theme explores the dynamic evolution of health education and the essential skills required to thrive in an ever-changing world. It connects experiential learning, cultural, resource management, and contextual responsiveness. What do we need to be able to do today and how do we know what we need tomorrow to shape and define the future of healthcare. Emphasising adaptability, innovation, and lifelong learning, it calls for a values-driven approach and forward-thinking strategies.

The journey highlights how educators, practitioners, and learners can collaborate in a community of learning to build resilient health systems and empower individuals to lead healthier lives. Central to this vision is the integration of technology, evidence-based practice, and human-centered approaches to meet emerging challenges and seize opportunities in global health.
