About this event
- Event lasts 1 hour
We get it – corporate networking events suck. All the ego feels fake. The sales pitches are pointless, and who actually wants to write an elevator pitch?
But kooky networking isn’t much better with random games that have confusing guidelines and zero point - leaving you wasting an hour or more of your life, alongside a group of people doing the same, that you couldn’t even name, let alone share anything about.
But what if you could cut the chit chat and dive into what you actually want to talk about? What would you bring to the table then… and maybe just maybe showcasing that passion, drive, determination or skill will bring clients into your life. Or at least have you making friends that will think of you when looking to make a referral.
What do you reckon, want to share what you love?
Who’s your host?
Nicci Lou is a Speaker, Founder of Amplify to Thrive and ICF Certified Neurodiversity Specialist Coach with a passion for unmasking. I first heard about the Joyfully Different community before it had its name when Alice and I hung out in the research stage. And I have been an avid fan ever since. We noticed in the Joyfully Different community, that as a group of neurodivergent entrepreneurs our energy doesn’t always play 9-5 - and so we are putting on this trial session to give you a chance to vibe with us if your brain is more of a night owl than a lark.So when is it?
Date: 5th August
Time: 7:30-8:30pm
Place: Online via Zoom. (You will receive a link on signing up. Click on that link to be taken to the LIVE room. You may need to enter your name and email)
What to expect
Your host Nicci Lou will introduce herself and share a fun fact or thought for the day. We’ll then each take turns to share a thing of interest with the group - this can be anything you like - something you're passionate about in your personal life, an app you can’t live without, a character from TV you’re obsessed by, a book you have read or even what it is about your business you love and why it has you working on late into the night - just for kicks.
If we have time, we can share a second thing. Everyone will get a maximum of 5 minutes to speak, and at 4 minutes, a gentle nudge to wrap up will be given, so as to be fair to everyone. However, no-one will be expected to fill a certain amount of time either.
If numbers are larger than expected, we will break into smaller rooms so everyone can be heard and – with permission – one person will feed back the different things people adore from each room.
FAQs
Will it be recorded?
No. This is a confidential space for people to show up and trust those in the room with them - sharing as they then deem fit. So if you want to be at the party - you need to join us LIVE.
Do I have to contribute, I’d rather listen
No, you absolutely do not have to contribute and can show up on or off camera as you are most comfortable. Should you wish to say something you can type it in the chat and Nicci Lou will try to read out as many of the comments as she can.
I am pretty wired by the evening and I don’t want to be disruptive, should I not go?
Pace, dance, rock or curl up under a weighted blanket while chewing ice and you will not disrupt proceedings. We love it when people meet their own needs and show up as the only person they can - themselves. So whether you’re feeling quiet or loud, please bring anything you need to be as present as you wish to be at the event.
Do I have to be diagnosed as neurodivergent to go?
No. Self-advocacy or self-diagnosis is a thingis and championed here. Your voice is welcome here.
