Shared Parental Leave, work and family life: where should we go from here?
Wed 29 March 2017, 10:30 – 16:45 BST
We are hosting this event in collaboration with Working Families and the Fatherhood Institute. We bring together policy makers, charitable organisations, employers and academics to explore gender, family and care policies with a particular focus on fathering and Shared Parental Leave.
We are delighted to be joined by a range of guest speakers and panel members including Adrienne Burgess (Joint Chief Executive and Head of Research, The Fatherhood Institute), Jonathan Swan (Senior Research and Policy Manager, Working Families), Professor Caroline Gatrell (Liverpool University) and Professor Berit Brandth (NTNU, Norway). We’ll be discussing how employed parents manage work-life balance, how and why parents utilise SPL, the current limitations and challenges of the scheme, and learn more about family-friendly employment policies beyond the United Kingdom. The event will end with an expert panel discussion to explore ‘where next?’ for family-friendly employment policy.
