As 2016 rolls into what we all hope is a more stable 2017, the Yorkshire SharePoint User Group enters its third year.
To kick the year off, which we are going to do on 10 January (to ensure any hangovers have abated and we have at least made a start on recovering waistlines), we have lined up an outstanding pair of presenters. They will extend the theme of Machine Learning and Assisted Intelligence (as AI is currently being referred to) as well as how document management has evolved in parallel with Office 365.
As ever, we will review the highlights from the Microsoft roadmap and releases, as well as other significant industry news.
Add free pizza and the SharePint get-together to end the night and we think it makes for a great start to 2017.

"Machine Learning for Muggles"
Artificial Intelligence is the latest hotness. Machine Learning sits behind artificial intelligence and on the surface it may seem like a deeply technical, scientific topic. We are here to tell you that it is more accessible than you think. We’ll look at some of the basics around the Azure Machine Learning service. We’ll also look some of the Microsoft Cognitive Services APIs which make it very easy to implement artificial intelligence ‘smarts’ into your application with simple, standard REST calls.
"Rethinking document in O365"
It is time to challenge yourself to think differently about Document Management, so that you can get the most out of the capabilities of Office 365. Scrap you network folder mindset, don't get caught up with lots of meta data and don't worry about building a navigation. Instead take the red pill and be welcomed to the real world of document management in Office 365. This session will explain why keeping it simple allows you to get the most out of Office 365, by demonstrating key areas like document authoring, collaboration, navigation, mobile working and security. It will advocate a simple four step approach which you can be used to guide your business into this new world of document management.
