An Entertaining & Educational Evening for Investors
Our Investor Masterclasses are intended for investors with all levels of experience. A panel of expert investors discusses topics of general interest to our audience. Topics will be covered both at a basic level for the beginner, and also in depth for the more experienced investor. There will also be an opportunity for you to quiz the panel and share your own views. No matter what your level of expertise, we’re sure you’ll find something of interest and value from the discussion with our panel. One of the joys of investing is that it is a constant learning process and this is a great opportunity for you to hone your skills.
Phil Oakley will start the session with a presentation on cash flow statements and what we can learn from them.
“In many ways, profit is based on opinions relating to the treatment of costs and revenues. This means that they can be manipulated to make a company look like it is doing better than it really is. Cash flow is much harder to fudge over the long run and that's why it's a good idea to know something about it” Phil Oakley.
The panellists will then talk about their worst share purchases and what they learnt from them. Learning lessons from one’s mistakes is an important aspect of becoming a better investor.
The final discussion will ask each panellist to discuss their most recent share purchase and tell us why they bought it which will give us an insight into the way they approach their investment decisions.
There will be an opportunity for you to pose questions and make your own comments, including a closing general Q&A.
This will be followed by wine and light refreshments, offering a networking opportunity with panellists and fellow investors, all included in the ticket price. For further details, see
We are pleased to be able to announce that this venue is wheelchair accessible.
