Event description

Description

Places are limited and interest in our previous sharing and learning events has been very high. Attendance is determined on a ‘first-come’ ‘first-serve’ basis – so don’t delay!

Click here for a draft outline programme.

This event is part of the NHS Litigation Authority’s series of free interactive safety and learning events for our members. The Mindful of the Gap event will showcase new and emerging patient care models, providing a platform for our members to share best practice and demonstrate how safety and staff care can be improved leading to a reduction in harm and claims.

The Mindful of the Gap event will explore how integrated patient care is delivered in reality, including a mental health perspective as well as consider support and empowerment of staff. Afternoon breakout sessions will provide opportunities for smaller group discussions with experts in the field to explore different aspects of case stories, along with local, integrated and strategic models.

Confirmed speakers include:

  • John Short, Chief Executive, Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust - Can trusts work together to recreate a NHS?

  • Stuart Bell CBE, Chief Executive, Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust - Integration: care as a shared endeavour

  • Roger Kline, Co-Director, NHS WRES - Enabling a leadership culture of openness and candour to support and empower staff.

  • Suzanne Shale, Chair of AvMA - Understanding human factors and risks in transitioning within mental health settings

FAQs

Where can I contact the organiser with any questions? Please email us at nhslaevents@gmail.com and a member of our events team will be in touch with you within three working days. We would be very interested to hear any views you have about the topics we aim to cover in this sharing and learning event as well as any other topics you would like to suggest for future events.

Can I invite my colleagues to this event? Feel free to forward this invitation to appropriate staff for registering. Places are prioritised for NHS Litigation Authority member organisations and public sector colleagues. Should the event be oversubscribed we reserve the right to limit attendance to two people per organisation; after this places are allocated on a first come first serve basis. If this should apply we will be able to confirm your place at least two weeks before the event.

I want to attend but can't make this date. Will you repeat this event? The NHS Litigation Authority holds a series of safety and learning sharing events for members. The next event will be held in the North in the Autumn. After the Mindful of the Gap event we will share materials on our website. If you would like to receive these, or be updated on future events, please apply to receive updates from the NHS Litigation Authority's website via this link: www.nhsla.nhs.uk
