The Give2Gain Timebank and Targeted Prevention Alliance are running a Sharing Our Stories Workshop.
Please come along to our lunchtime story telling session to learn how other people have been impacted by your work and/or to share how you have been impacted by the work of others. During lunch, attendees will be invited to listen to a series of very short stories from colleagues, and people, who use community services in Stockport.
Story Telling: Is the oldest form of communication and continues to have a great impact on the way we work, as it helps us to understand peoples’ experiences in their own words. It can also create a comfortable setting which then enables people to be more honest and open than they might be somewhere else.
The Purpose of the Event: This event will provide you with the opportunity to meet other local people, who have an interest in the ways in which stories can help us understand the challenges faced by those we work with. In addition to this, there will be an opportunity to explore how stories can help us understand how we improve our community relationships and interactions.
Who is the Event for? Community practitioners in the third sector, people currently working with organisations, community managers, anyone with an interest in the ways in which stories can 1) help illustrate peoples’ experiences and outcomes and 2) provide a basis for continuous improvement.
If you have a story to tell, of no longer than 3 minutes, and would like to share this, at this event, please register your interest, in telling your story, below.
Plenty of food guaranteed – both for thought and for stomachs!
Thank you for paying the £5 for this event, which will contribute to the cost of your lunch.
