About this event

Enriching The List is a virtual volunteering project that enables users of the National Heritage List for England (NHLE) to share their knowledge and photos of Listed buildings, Registered historic designed landscapes and other protected heritage sites on the List.

The NHLE has over 400,000 entries, but many of these are quite brief or out of date and Historic England needs help to expand the information about these nationally important historic places. Gareth Lopes Powell, Enriching The List Officer at Historic England, will tell us how we can share our knowledge and images of listed or registered places, to help record important facts and perhaps even unlock secrets.

Enriching The List is a really simple and quick way for County Gardens Trusts, other researchers, and anyone else with an interest in their local historic sites, to share their knowledge with a national audience so that the places we all care about can be better understood, managed and protected.

Organised by

The Gardens Trust is the UK national charity dedicated to protecting our heritage of designed gardens and landscapes. We campaign on their behalf, undertake research and conservation work, train volunteers and encourage public appreciation and involvement, working with the national network of County Garden Trusts.
