About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Did you know there are 3 species of shark that lay eggs around the UK coastline!

Join the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and The Deep on an egg-citing egg case hunt on the search for mermaid's purses.

Embrace your wild side - what to expect:

Please be aware that our Shark Egg Hunt takes place along Spurn's beach, which has rocky and uneven terrain.

There are limited tickets available and you must book in advance.

All children must be accompanied by an adult.

What to bring/wear

Our events mostly take place outside so brace yourself for the Yorkshire weather! We'd recommend sturdy and waterproof footwear or wellies, and lots of layers! If it's a hot day, remember a hat and suncream!

Toilets and catering

There are toilets (including an accessible toilet) and a café at the Spurn Discovery Centre, serving both hot and cold food.

Covid-19 secure

If you have tested positive or think you may have Covid-19 we ask you to stay at home. Please contact Supporter Services if this is the case and your booking will be refunded. Visit our events Covid-19 page for more details.

Joining us on the day

Our events meet at Spurn Discovery Centre, where there is a cafe and toilets. Please arrive with plenty of time before your event!

Parking

There is a £5 parking charge, which helps us to maintain the centre and look after the reserve. There is free parking for Wildlife Trust members who display their up-to-date membership card on their car dashboard.
