On the afternoon of Saturday 17 July, Shatwell Farm is holding and Open Day and invites visitors to explore the site and enjoy a programme of events.

It is free to attend the Open Day, but registrations should be made in advance.

Entry to the site is staggered to follow social distancing rules. Please arrive as closely as possible to your chosen entry time.

Face coverings will be required in indoor spaces.

Drawing Matter (www.drawingmatter.org)

In the Archive:

Drawings from the Drawing Matter collection selected by Nicholas Olsberg showing how architects have approached the space in between buildings. The selection will also be presented in a proposed exhibition space designed by Claire Oster during a teaching studio at Cornell earlier this year. Claire's design, along with others from the studio, will be also published on Drawing Matter's website.

On Site:

The Open Day will celebrate the topping-off the shed constructed during Drawing Matter's Shed at Shatwell Workshop. Led by Maria-Chiara Piccinelli (PiM.studio) and Corinna Dean (ARCA), over the preceding week a group of 20 workshop participants and collaborators will have designed and constructed a shed that reinterprets an unbuilt design by James Gowan.

Grain silos & Haybarn gallery space:

Matchett & Page's exhibition 'Sounds & Shapes' includes two site specific works: a sound installation by Disinformation in one of the disused grain silos and a geometric patio-courtyard designed by Denman + Gould. The geometric theme continues into the Haybarn gallery space with recent silkscreen prints that explore colour and shape by Lucy or Robert. (Continues weekends until 1 August.)

On the Spoon: Lucas Hollweg and Lucie Reader

Throughout the afternoon enjoy torta frita served by local cooks Lucas Hollweg and Lucie Reader. There will also be a bar to quench your thirst.
