The Grade II Listed Sheffield Central Library which also houses the Library, Theatre and Graves Art Gallery, was opened in 1934 by the Duchess of York (The Queen Mother). It retains many original features and has been in continual public use for its 91 years.Come and explore some of our archive material relating to the building and its people, and celebrate this wonderful building.There will be opportunities to explore the building itself and to find out more about the work of Sheffield Archives and Local Studies Library. Tour of our Stack (the book store) 2pm-3pm - Maximum capacity 15 people. Please e-mail sally.rodgers@sheffield.gov.uk if you would like to be part of the tour.
