Sheffield Forgemasters have kindly extended an invitation to CIOB to return to their site on 24th October 2025 for an update on the construction progress for Sheffield Forgemasters’ recapitalisation programme. We first visited the site on 7th March 2025 and it was a facinating and immersive experience for all who attended.
Work is underway to provide new open-die forging, and advanced machining facilities, as well as infrastructure upgrades through flood management and electrical resilience projects .
The recapitalisation programme will create some of the worlds most advanced large forging and machining capabilities, de-risking supply for the UK defence programmes, as well as making a significant contribution to the region’s advanced manufacturing sector, and regenerating a prominent brownfield site in Sheffield’s industrial heartland.
