Event description

Description

A lovely opportunity to visit three inspiring, yet individual, gardens designed and owned by members of the Landscape Architecture Department, University of Sheffield. Opening on Sunday 14 July 2019 (11am -6pm). Combined adm £10, chd free. Homemade teas will be available to purchase at Bramblewood Cottage and 68 Tasker Road.

The admission ticket includes two city centre gardens, approx. 1 mile/5 minutes drive apart; and one garden located at Bradfield, 6 miles from Sheffield. A map will be supplied on booking. On-street parking in the area.

At the forefront of current ideas in naturalistic planting design, creating sustainable landscapes, and gardening for a changing climate, the Landscape Architecture Departments’s work included the Olympic Park, Pictorial Meadows and has come to be known as 'The Sheffield School' of planting design.

Bramblewood Cottage, a one acre garden six miles from Sheffield centre has areas of naturalistic perennial planting, large log-pile sculptures and designed annual and perennial meadows, rain gardens and bioswales. Click here for a map.

68 Tasker Road is a family garden using reclaimed materials, managing water through green roofs, ponds and soakaways. Click here for a map

19 Fir Street explores a meadow aesthetic using many plants usually considered tender for a northern city to maintain colour and foliage interest from February to November. Please note that Fir Street is narrow and steep - we suggest parking a little further away and walking to the garden. Click here for a map

Please note we cannot offer refunds or exchanges once tickets are purchased. Please see our events ticket policy for full details.
