Event description

Description

This is our fortnightly citywide campaigning day in the run up to the council elections on May 3rd. We are aiming to elect Broomhall community campaigner Kaltum Rivers to join Magid as our our second ward councillor. But it's a marginal ward that will be hard fought.

You can door knock in pairs or help deliver an election campaign candidate flyer. Followed by a pub debrief! The pub is a Wetherspoons so food is available.

Please arrive by 2pm when there will be canvassing training, including campaign messages, followed by door knocking in pairs in and around the Broomhill area of Broomhill & Sharrow Vale ward. All door knocking on campaigning days is designed to accommodate anyone new to street campaigning - you will be paired up with an experienced person.

Please bring a small backpack if you will be delivering flyers. Please dress appropriately to meet people on the doorstep - party badges will be provided!

There are regular bus services from the city centre to the Hallamshire hospital. The Francis Newton is about 8 minutes walk from the University tram stop - trams run from the rear of the train station and blue and yellow routes can be used.

NOTE: If the weather forecast is very bad these campaign events may be moved to the day before but with at least 24 hours notice given via e-mail to all who have signed up.

More information from Eamonn Ward 0750 3883740 eamonnward@live.co.uk before the event and on the day.
