Sheffield: How much will I make? Simple financial forecasting for start-ups
Thu 17 November 2016, 11:00 – 13:00 GMT
A practical two hour workshop which helps you connect with, and take control of, your future financial performance, plus the option to add on two exclusive one hour follow up sessions with the tutor.
The first part of the group workshop will cover what sales and cashflow forecasting are, and why they are so important for any startup to get to grips with. We then look in more detail at your key cost centres, provide help with your pricing strategy and show you how you can forecast sales levels.
You will – with support from your tutor - bring these together into a single spreadsheet, using a simple but effective template, to create a dynamic business model that not only predicts your profit levels, but also allows you to see how changes in price or sales levels effect your bottom line. The file is yours to take away and refine.
Your tutor will also provide two hours (two * one hour sessions) of additional personal, tailored support and advice to help you develop your business model further, at mutually convenient times. This follow-on support will be delivered at the same location as the main workshop.
Pre-start or early stage businesses of any size who do not have a Sales or Cashflow Forecast, or who do have some basic figures but don’t feel they are of much use yet.
Understand the value of Cashflow and Sales Forecasting.
Develop a basic financial model for your Business.
Develop a more nuanced model with the help of expert support.

You do not need to be an advanced IT user for this workshop but you MUST be comfortable using a simple spreadsheet.
As we are making your forecast LIVE in the session, you MUST bring your own laptop or tablet with Microsoft Excel installed.
As well as this, you will need a clear business concept and a clear idea of the products and/or services you will sell and a reasonable idea of the cost centres involved in delivering this business.
