Event description

Description

Please join us on 27th of June at a University-wide event showcasing best practice and expertise in research methods and practice.

11am : “Scientific Ecosystems and Research Reproducibility”. Keynote by Professor Marcus Munafò, University of Bristol and UK Reproducibility Network lead

12pm - 12:30 : Lightning talks from attendees

12:30 - 2pm: Lunch and Reproducibility Showcase

The UK Reproducibility Network was launched in September 2018 as a peer-led consortium to investigate factors which contribute to robust research, provide training, and disseminate best practice. Marcus Munafò is the network lead, Professor of Biological Psychology at the University of Bristol and lead author on the ‘A manifesto for reproducible science’. The aim of the UK Reproducibility Network is to ensure the UK retains its place as a centre for world-leading research.

We are keen to involve all those across the University interested in these issues, from a research or training perspective, as well as to provide the opportunity for those who wish to introduce their interests in 2 minutes to the audience, before an informal lunch and networking opportunity.

This initiative is being strongly supported by both the University of Sheffield and The UKRN, and the meeting will serve to announce the details of a fully funded PhD studentship call to support research in this area at the University.
