London, United Kingdom
ALBION, and singers from across Sheffield, invite you to come and be part of a wonderful celebration of three marvellous things:
- the beautiful traditional music and words of "these islands" - songs including Scarborough Fair, The Skye Boat Song, and Jerusalem - sung in the new vocal arrangements that Albion have made their own, bringing to life Britain’s great musical heritage and showing it off to the world;
- Sheffield's rich and varied musical scene, with singers from across the region taking part in a massed choral performance that will surround you with song, and
- the beginning of the 100 Days Yorkshire Festival that celebrates the imminent arrival of the Tour de France in 'God's own county'!
The performance was commissioned with funding from Sheffield Culture Consortium / City Council and takes place at Sheffield’s iconic Millennium Gallery on Sunday evening, 30 March at 6.30pm. Tickets are free but you will need one to get in as capacity is limited!
