Sheldonian Series: Truth


The Sheldonian Series continues this term, focussing on the subject of 'Truth'. Join the Vice-Chancellor to hear from panellists debating the limits and challenges to truth today, followed by an audience Q&A.

We are delighted to announce the speakers for this event:

Richard Ovenden OBE (moderator), Bodley’s Librarian and the Helen Hamlyn Director of the University Libraries, Head of Gardens, Libraries and Museums (GLAM), University of Oxford.

Professor Kimberley Johnson, Professor of Social and Cultural Analysis at New York University and Winant Visiting Professor of American Government at the Rothermere American Institute.

Mitali Mukherjee, Director of the Reuters Institute for Journalism and Director of their Journalist Programmes.

Fraser Nelson, journalist at The Times newspaper, and columnist and editor of The Spectator from 2009-2024.

This event is open to all staff and students and aims to promote freedom of speech and inclusive inquiry within the collegiate University, as part of the wider Sheldonian Series.

The event will be fully accessible, within the limitations of the Sheldonian Theatre's building. Step-free access, a quiet area, and gender-neutral toilets are available.
