The surprising science behind meditation, reiki, crystals and other alternative practises.

About this event

The surprising science behind meditation, reiki, crystals and other alternative practices.

We LOVE it when science and spirituality come together, and in our opinion no one does it better than best-selling author, mind-body expert and 'kindness tsar' Dr David Hamilton.

In his latest book, David dives into some of the 'woo' practices that are becoming more mainstream, and presents the cutting-edge research and scientific evidence that proves how and why these traditional approaches actually work. And in this workshop the Hay House author and sought-after speaker will share some of his 'out there' findings.

He'll also share some on how we can incorporate these practices into our everyday lives in order to find true balance and physical and mental health.

Prepare to be woo'd.

INFO ON DR DAVID HAMILTON

After completing his PhD in organic chemistry, David worked in R&D in the pharmaceutical industry, developing drugs for cardiovascular disease and cancer. Inspired by the placebo effect, and how some people's conditions would improve because they believed a placebo was a real drug, he left the industry to write books and educate people in how they can harness their mind and emotions to improve their mental and physical health.

Now author of 11 books, including the Amazon bestseller, 'The Five Side Effects of Kindness', David is also a columnist, the 'Kindness Tsar' for Psychologies Magazine, and have been a featured guest on Channel 4's, 'Sunday Brunch Live' in the UK and CBS Sunday Morning in the USA, as well as on several BBC radio shows and podcasts around the world.

He is an advocate for kindness and work passionately to inspire a kinder world.

You can find out more about Dr. David Hamilton on his Twitter, Instagram and his website.

Organiser Toni Jones

Organiser of [shelf help. workshop] Why Woo Woo Works with Dr David R. Hamilton

Shelf Help is a global platform and community empowering people to improve their mental wellbeing through self-help and self-development.

We are the world’s first self-help book club and it is our mission to improve mental health and happiness levels by making self-help ACCESSIBLE, COLLABORATIVE and COOL.

We want to connect as many people as possible with books, ideas and experts that will inspire positive change in their lives.

And then to connect these people with each other because, whilst we believe that a better relationship with ourselves is the first step in improving our lives, we also know that ‘self-help’ is actually most powerful when we come together to share the adventure.

Everyone is welcome in our club, whether you're an enlightened meditator who reads A Course In Miracles for fun, or you think the Dalai Lama lives in London Zoo. The only criteria to join is an open heart and an inquisitive mind…
