Being a woman feels like a race I can’t win – get my period by 12, lose virginity by 16, get good job by 25, married by 30, kids before my eggs deplete, publish before menopause sucks memory away. Add creativity into the mix of deadlines and you’re running losing a race to agents, publication, grants, awards. And before you get a chance to see what you could really write your creativity is fried by unrealistic expectations and pressures. I wanted to write a course that honestly explores creativity at many different stages of women’s lives, to offer a blueprint on how to live the writing life; how to hold onto our own creative goals and values and set our own timetable in a way that is true to us and our lives. I want us to value the stories we have to share at every stage of life, as well as understanding how to channel our teenage self at 50 and how to summon our inner crone at twenty. We are many people inside this one life with many important stories to tell at every stage, we do not have a shelf-life, but we do deserve a space on the shelf.

Please be aware that sessions are bi-weekly not weekly, I have now rectified this problem on Eventbrite. You will get a course guide and notification of sessions.
