Sheltering Clay

Come join Barbara Beyer to explore the protective and structural properties of clay as being a material used across millennia and all cultures in making homes and shelters. Under the instructions of the artist the participants will learn how to mix cob and will build multiple or one single cob sculptures in combination with natural and recycled materials drawing on themes of refuge, care and sustainability.

The workshop is open to all ages and abilities. Any children must be accompanied by an adult and no child can be left unattended. All materials are provided.

Clay in vivo goes beyond the usual exhibition to offer visitors a hands-on creative experience with clay through workshops and performances, which unfold clay’s capacity to connect, heal, shape and reimagine our world.
