12 mile invigorating circular walk through the South Downs National Park. Led by a working shepherd. Sheep, Shepherds and the South Downs have a long and fascinating association. Follow the footsteps of the shepherds of old, learn how shepherding, land management and grazing of Southdown sheep were instrumental in the formation of the downs we know today. A local smuggling industry developed and economies were made. Hear about all aspects of sheep and pay homage to our native teddybear faced Southdown. Taste the local sheep cheese, feel the yarn from southdown fleeces and hear the gentle tinkle of sheep bells.
