Sherlock Holmes and the Red-Headed League
'We travelled by Underground to Aldersgate; and a short walk took us to Saxe-Coburg Square'
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories are an immortal pleasure. By joining your friendly guide, you can recreate the thrilling adventure of 'The Red-Headed League' on foot - just like Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson!
Starting at Blackfriars Underground, we'll take a gentle stroll through streets that Sherlock Holmes would recognise today and ponder these puzzling questions:
Why was Mr Jabez Wilson, a London pawnbroker, paid a small fortune to copy out the Encyclopedia Britannica? And what was his assistant doing in the cellar? Who are the Red-Headed League?
All will be revealed at the end (near Barbican Underground). And you don't need to know the story to enjoy the walk, but if you do, so much the better.*
Walk lasts just under 2 hours. Some steps (step-free version available). Please dress for the weather, walk continues rain or shine. Includes complimentary factsheet about Sherlock Holmes!
* Please don't give the ending away - it's the only one I've got!
