Description

Sherry Weddell is the author of the best-selling book, Forming Intentional Disciples: the Path to Knowing and Following Jesus.. Her newest book is Fruitful Discipleship: Living the Mission of Jesus in the Church and the World (2017). She is the editor of and a contributor to Becoming a Parish of Intentional Disciples (2015)

Sherry is Executive Director and co-founder of the Catherine of Siena Institute (CSI), which she founded with Fr. Michael Sweeney, OP in 1993. CSI is probably best known for the Called & Gifted discernment process, the first gifts discernment program designed especially for Catholics by Sherry in 1993. In the years since, she has helped tens of thousands of Catholics around the world discern their charisms and has trained thousands of pastoral leaders to facilitate discernment. Sherry’s next major creative project is revising and updating the Called & Gifted discernment process in response to an increasing global demand.

Sherry currently leads CSI’s international network of traveling teachers and regional collaborators. The Institute team has spent much time over the past 12 years training thousands of parish and diocesan leaders at all levels to effectively call Catholics to begin consciously following Jesus as his disciple in the midst of his Church, and how to create a normative culture of intentional discipleship at the parish level.

Sherry and her collaborators have worked directly with over 140,000 Catholics in well over 500 parishes in 176 dioceses and 11 countries on 5 continents. Sherry has spoken in hundreds of parishes as well as at many conferences, diocesan leadership gatherings, clergy convocations, gatherings of religious, and seminaries..

When Sherry is not on the road, she enjoys living in and exploring the Colorado Rockies and tending her high altitude Tuscan garden.
