A chance to try out this beautiful knitting style in a fun and supportive environment. Karie Westermann will guide you in creating a bookmark showcasing Shetland Lace motifs – and hopefully inspire you to carry on to more adventurous projects!
What prior experience do I need?
You need to have any prior experience of Shetland Lace knitting for this workshop but you should have mastered basic knitting skills and be looking to add to your skillset
Will I get a lunchbreak?
Yes. We usually break for an hour's lunch at around 12:30. You are also welcome to bring refreshments into the Education Suite. Participants on workshops will receive 20% hot and cold drinks in the Maritime Cafe on the day of their workshop.
What should I bring to the workshop?
We will provide yarns and any other basic materials for this workshop. You should bring with you a pair of 4mm straight needles.
Who is the artist leading the workshop?

Where is the workshop?
The workshop is in the Education Suite at Aberdeen Maritime Museum. It is on the first level of the building and is accessible for people with limited mobility. If you are unsure where it is, please ask a member of our Front of House team who will be happy to help.
