Shift Left Through Play: Rethinking Security Culture with Developers

Cybersecurity isn’t just a technical problem, it’s a cultural one. Too often, it’s approached through tools, policies, and audits, while the real challenge lies in how people think about, talk about, and collaborate on security.

If we want to see genuine change in the way organisations approach secure systems, that change needs to come from within: from developers, product managers, and delivery teams who are confident, engaged, and empowered to think critically about security from the outset.

In this interactive session at Leeds Digital Festival 2025, we’ll explore how games can help shift that culture.

Join us for a virtual threat modelling workshop using the Elevation of Privilege card game. You’ll take part in a live threat modelling game. Working in a team and using a shared system architecture diagram, you’ll learn how to spot vulnerabilities early, explore attack categories across a six-part framework, and most importantly, have fun while doing serious work.
