About this event

Other

KFX is a drug consultancy initiative run by Kevin Flemen which provides training for professionals to better understand how to adapt to the changing drug market. Kevin has previously delivered training sessions on emerging synthetic opiates in the UK and how to respond to them to best support people using drugs. Due to a demand for more training on this topic and the continued threat of synthetic opioids, Kevin will be delivering an updated version of this session to discuss the shifting heroin markets in the UK and how to respond to Nitazenes and other challenges. This session will discuss the ongoing reduction in opium/heroin production in Afghanistan which has seen reduced purity and increased prices for street heroin. While there has been a focus on the emergence of novel, potent opioids such as the Nitazenes, Kevin’s session discusses the need for developing broader responses which include but are not specific to Nitazenes.
