Description

Roxane is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and a full member of the Division of Clinical Psychology. Roxane’s specialist field is the impact of violence, particularly domestic violence or sexual violence, on women's mental health, and she has worked with victims of physical / sexual violence and childhood abuse for 25 years. She is Director Mental Health Advisor to Against Violence and Abuse (AVA) and supervises and trains a variety of professionals. Her recent work has included supervising people working with men and women (as part of the programme 'for baby's sake') building on her contact with people running groups for men and supporting victims in Probation and then CRC/Rise.

Supporting families affected by domestic violence and abuse is a challenging area of work which can have a siginifcant impact on even the most expereinced of professionals. This workshop will focus on giving staff the tools to build their emotional resilience and to understand the importance of self-care in this line of work.
