About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

The Rape and Sexual Violence Project (RSVP) specialist training team will deliver sessions around Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) highlighting the importance of a child centred approach, to deepen our understanding and insight into CSE and some of the false and harmful narratives.

When we centre the voices and experiences of children impacted by CSE, we can more courageously explore the narratives around CSE and gain a deeper insight into the traumatic impacts on children.

These sessions are funded through the Birmingham City Council Community Cohesion and Resilience Programme. The aim is to support those that work, live and support Birmingham City communities and individuals. RSVP are providing free online training sessions for anyone who works in the wards of Birmingham City Council(see HERE for a list of wards).

What the session will include:

· What is child sexual exploitation (CSE)?

· Why we need to talk about child rape and manipulation, not relationships or consent.

· If we listen to children subjected to CSE what do they tell us?

· What are some of the harmful narratives around CSE?

. What is the impact of these harmful narratives, especially on children?

. How can we promote courageous discussions around CSE that support all children?

· Why it is important that together we have more insight into CSE?

. An increased awareness of CSE and related support.
