About this event

The Rape and Sexual Violence Project (RSVP) specialist training team are delivering sessions around Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) highlighting the importance of a child centred approach, to deepen our understanding and insight into CSE and some of the false and harmful narratives.

When we centre the voices and experiences of children impacted by CSE, we can more courageously explore the narratives around CSE and gain a deeper insight into the traumatic impacts on children.

What the session will include:

· What is child sexual exploitation (CSE)?

· Why we need to talk about child rape and manipulation, not relationships or consent.

· If we listen to children subjected to CSE what do they tell us?

· What are some of the harmful narratives around CSE?

. What is the impact of these harmful narratives, especially on children?

. How can we promote courageous discussions around CSE that support all children?

· Why it is important that together we have more insight into CSE?

. An increased awareness of CSE and related support.

The sessions are supported by extensive resources along with the training material.

Who benefit from the training and awareness resources:

· Police

· Social workers

· Schools and education providers

· Health care professionals

· Community groups

· Childcare professionals

· Anyone supporting children and young people

RSVP (The Rape and Sexual Violence Project) is an award winning, long established and well respected specialist charity supporting children and adults of all genders following rape, sexual abuse and sexual exploitation. We also provide expert training to individuals and organisations around sexual abuse, harassment, trauma-informed approaches and any training to support and challenge awareness of sexual trauma and your responses to survivors.

The training revenue we raise through delivery of our specialist sessions goes back into our services supporting survivors of sexual abuse, violence, harassment and trauma. By attending one of our events you will not only be raising your knowledge of how to respond compassionately, humanely and empathically to the needs of your employees who may be survivors, but also helping us to deliver and develop our valuable services to people now and in the future.
