Finding time to write thoughtfully and constructively about teaching and learning can often be a luxury. The SHINE Writing Retreat is not as glamorous as a cabin in Scotland but it is dedicated time to focus on writing your claim for Fellowship. The session will be tailored to the specific needs of the participants on the day but will include guidance and discussion on writing a SHINE claim as well as structured periods for writing supported, if appropriate, by visualisation and mapping, freewriting, writing to prompts and self-directed writing.

Session Intended Learning Outcomes

By the end of the session you will be able to:

  • understand the tone and structureof a SHINE claim
  • practise a range of strategies to support your writing of a SHINE claim
  • prepare a draft claim for Fellowship

Methods of Facilitation

This session is primarily a self-directed writing session but with support, input and feedback if required.
