Shining Star Lantern Making Workshops
Overview
IMPORTANT: Each person who is making a star (children and adults) needs to book an individual ticket.
Come down to Elswick Community Pool & Gym and make your very own SHINING STAR LANTERN! Led by artist Jane Gower and local community arts organisation Moving Parts Arts, you'll learn how to make a light up star from willow wood. Suitable for children aged 6+ and teenagers, as well as accompanying adults!
We are running two sessions to create your stars: Mon 8th Dec 4-6pm and on Tues 9th Dec 1-3pm. It is FREE to sign up but there are limited places available, so registering your interest is essential to secure a spot. FOOD PROVIDED at each session! Check out the example star lantern on display in the Pool foyer.
Once you have made your star you will be able to take part in a procession at ENCHANTED CITY - a brand new Winter Festival of art and unique experiences in the heart of Newcastle. The Star Procession at Enchanted City will take place on Sunday 14th December at Northumbria University and you will need to be available 3pm-6pm. You will get free tickets to Enchanted City and be able to enjoy the rest of the festival. We will also provide travel support from Elswick/Benwell area into the city centre and back. Get in touch for more info and to sign up to the workshop and procession!
