Event description

Description

Join the Thames Discovery Programme's Tadpoles as they explore the archaeology on the foreshore of the River Thames. Using our records of the Deptford foreshore, we will locate and map the various features that can be found there. Located n3ext to the remains of one of Henry VIII's shipyards this site shows how the archaeology on the foreshore can give us clues about the development of the area. This session will include a chance to tour the site and look at artefacts from our handling collection.

We will meet at 11am at the stairs at the end of Watergate Street. This session is aimed at children and young people aged 8-18. Parents are welcome to stay if they wish, but should book a Parent ticket. Please note that the foreshore can be uneven and muddy so we would advise that you wear sturdy boots or wellingtons. If you have any further question please contact us.

Thanks to funding from Tideway this walk can be offered for free
