“Mata Ki Chowki” means invoking the divine mother with a pure heart and devotion through devi stotras, mantras,, bhajans and the devi mahatm. Avdhoot Baba Shivanand Ji assures us that when we do mata ki chowki, Divine Mother actually descends and through the blessings of her presence raises the consciousness of all those present. Fully surrendering to her lotus feet, we receive her grace and move beyond the sufferings created by our karmas.
The Durgasaptashati has 3 aspects: Mahatm, Gyan and Sadhana. The Mahatm describes the glory of the Divine Mother as she battles and slays a multitude of demons. Frequently listening to the Devi Mahatm helps to purify the mind, which is an essential prerequisite for being able to manifest our desires.
Mata ki Chowki is concluded with the recitation of the Durga saptashati through powerful beej mantras. Durga Saptashati is the most powerful and esoteric scripture of Sanatana Dharma.
