This autumn the best of international short film comes to Southampton courtesy of Shnit - a film festival with a difference. Based in Berne, Switzerland it's held in people's houses and alternative venues around the globe – from Luanda to Bogota, from St Petersburg to Seattle – and at Bitterne Park Baptist Church Hall in Southampton. According to Urban Dictionary 'shnit' means "funky, freaky, and full of style; something shnitty is unique and extraordinary in any positive way" - and this years' film selection certainly lives up to this description.
When & Where
Zemedia was founded and is run by Tim O'Riordan.
I started Zemedia in 2008 as an outlet for my freelance media production and training work. Previously I'd built up loads of experience as a media producer at the University of Southampton and as a freelance picture editor, working primarily for BBC South. As well as making media I like watching and showing films.
