Do you watch feature films and television drama? Are you a storyteller interested in the unique opportunities and challenges of writing for film and television?

On this five-week course experienced film and tv script editor Hayley McKenzie will explore the storytelling possibilities and demands of screenwriting. You’ll develop characters, tackle narrative structure, hone your dialogue and learn the formatting fundamentals unique to screenwriting. Participants can use this course to create a film or tv project from scratch or develop work you’ve already begun.

Plus you’ll learn the essentials you’ll need to know for getting your writing noticed by the film and tv industry.

Biography:

Hayley McKenzie is the Founder of Script Angel, a screenwriter coaching and development company. She was previously a film and television script editor for over fifteen years. Hayley was Development Executive at ITV Studios Drama and script edited UK dramas including Casualty (BBC), Blue Murder (ITV) and Hollyoaks (Channel 4).

Hayley is an international speaker at film and television events including Cannes Film Festival, Raindance Film Festival (DigiCreators Writersroom), Women in Film & Television, Story Expo (Los Angeles), Craft of Comedy UK, LOCO London Comedy Film Festival and London Screenwriters' Festival.

Course dates:

Wednesdays, 6.30pm to 8.30pm, on 6 September, 13 September, 20 September, 27 September and 4 October.

Please note: you must sign up for the full course even if you cannot attend all dates. No partial course ticket is available.
