About this event
Steve Keyworth, chair of the WGGB's East Anglia region, chairs an online discussion on writing for short film with guest speakers Ann-Marie McCormack and Craig Higgins. This will be followed by a general meeting for regional members and an update on union activity in East Anglia.
Filmmaker and university lecturer Ann-Marie McCormack, is a factual TV director, writer/director of drama, and a short film producer. Ann-Marie produced and directed several shorts under AmmA Films and Productions, including "Hot in Here", which screened at several international festivals in USA, Australia and Ireland. She co-produced and script edited the BFI Network short film Hats released in 2022 by Fam Films.
Craig Higgins co-founded Norfolk Screen in late 2020. From his start volunteering in 2012 he rose to co-run the Norwich Film Festival (NFF) in 2015, helping to establish it as a BAFTA and BIFA (British Independent Awards) Qualifying event and during that time, programme hundreds of short films for audiences to enjoy.
Both be sharing their wealth of valuable experiences and insights into the filmmaking and writing process, and discuss strategies to secure funding for a short film.
