Event description
Should Government “Do God”? (Inter-Faith Week 2020) with Dr Krish Kandiah

About this event

Alistair Campbell famously interrupted Prime Minister Tony Blair when he started speaking about his faith. Many would see this as an indicator of the place of faith in government - we just don’t do it. Yet 84% of the global population identify with a religion. According to the most recent census 66% of the UK population identify with a religion. Religion plays a seminal role for forming personal identity, understanding nationhood, freedom and community, and informing behaviour, relationships and decision making. This seminar will explore how we can overcome bias and fear when it comes to engaging with faith.

Dr Krish Kandiah is a social entrepreneur, a frequent broadcaster on Radio 4 and Radio 2, he has written 13 books including “Faitheism: Why Christians and Atheists have more in common than you think.”

This event is relevant for people that practice a religion/belief, as well as those that do not.
