Guest Speaker's Bio:

Paul Tranter – VC, Founder, Advisor & Occasional Guitar Noodler
Paul Tranter is the Founder and Managing Partner of Kappika Ventures, a UK-based VC firm backing ambitious founders solving real-world problems through science and deep tech. A self-described reluctant VC, Paul built Kappika to be a quiet, enduring force for innovators who need real support, not just capital.

With 20+ years in corporate finance, venture development, and innovation consulting, he’s raised over £200M for clients and led multi-national teams across sectors rom EdTech and clean energy to advanced materials and manufacturing.

Before Kappika, Paul was MD at PCS International and led Pera Technology through a major transformation — growing revenues to £20M, securing £80M+ in funding, and completing a successful MBO.

He holds an MSc in Polymer Technology and a BSc in Applied Chemistry. Outside of work, Paul is a voracious reader, a lifelong learner, and a bit of an adventurer — whether backing founders or noodling on his guitar, he brings rigour, heart, and humour to it all.
