Darlington Business Club, in partnership with Tees Valley Business Club are pleased to welcome North East Finance and Jeremie Fund Managers. These include NEL, North Star Ventures, IP Group and Entrust.
This event is being sponsored by GrowthAccelerator a new service that will help England´s brightest growing businesses achieve their ambitions. The GrowthAccelerator is a partnership between private enterprise and government; and it’s affordable. Whatever businesses need to speed and sustain growth, GrowthAccelerator´s network of growth experts will help drive them forward.
This is an opportunity to meet with the Fund Managers and find out if you can use the help and support on offer.
The £125m Finance for Business programme provides debt and equity finance from £1,000 to £1.25m to SMEs based in, or relocating to, the north east of England, with the aim of helping them to start up, develop or grow.
There are seven individual funds designed to provide a range of investment, as follows:
- North East Micro Loan Fund
- North East Proof of Concept Fund
- North East Technology Fund
- North East Accelerator Fund
- North East Angel Fund
- North East Growth Plus Fund
- North East Growth Fund
To be eligible for support, a business must be:
- a small or medium sized enterprise (SME)
- based in or relocating to, the north east of England
- operating in an ERDF eligible sector
We also welcome;
Investment for Growth, who provide financial support to North East SME’s for business growth projects. Funded by the European Regional Development Fund, Investment for Growth can provide up to 40% of the cost of bringing in an external consultant to help with a range of projects including marketing, planning and process improvements.
NBSL, who offer The North East Business Support Fund; a grant available to north east businesses who are looking to grow their turnover or staff levels.
Blue Star Solutions, their consultants have helped secure finance for projects costing in excess of £500 million, with grants secured for small items of expenditure costing a few hundred pounds, to large multi million pound projects.
Darlington Borough Council, who offer The Falchion Fund which is a ‘soft loan’ scheme dedicated to supporting new and existing businesses located in Darlington which employ up to 250 people.

Our monthly meetings are friendly and informal. They include a guest speaker, buffet and the opportunity to network with fellow members and guests. Guests can attend 1 meeting free of charge - if you enjoy it then you'll need to become a member to attend further meetings.

Darlington Business Club
Darlington Business Club is a nonprofit membership organisation, led by volunteers from the local business community, with the purpose of providing opportunities to network and build relationships in our local area.
Our monthly club meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month. We have an informal agenda which includes networking and presentations. Light refreshments are also provided.
We vary the locations of our meetings throughout the region, which ensures we are accessible to a wide range of people and gives our local venues the opportunity to showcase their facilities.
Membership fees are £75 per annum*
Guests are welcome to attend 2 meetings free of charge before submitting an application for membership.
