Outline of plan

A number of UK and EU-funded research initiatives have recently got underway that focus on infrastructure systems, interdependencies between infrastructure sectors and assets, and the role that complex systems modelling can play in helping to plan for future infrastructure investment.  Coupled with this is the development of a number of collaborative online tools for different asset owners to share data and information to aid in future investment planning, as well as civil contingency planning.  The objectives for this event are to:

  • showcase a number of leading UK and European research and innovation projects
  • provide details of research funding opportunities
  • facilitate new collaborations and networking opportunities

This event is part of a series of activities being undertaken through the "Infrastructure Programme" of the MBE KTN . The overall objective of the programme is to identify the innovation gaps and needs of the civil infrastructure sector and broker new collaborations to exploit funding opportunities for the infrastructure sector. The programme delivery team is led by CIRIA and had a management group compromising of representatives of the Technology Strategy Board, EPSRC, BIS, Institution of Civil Engineers, and Transportation KTN.
