Event description

Description

A fun and playful workshop led by Susan Harrison, exploring characterisation in improv.

In this energetic session you'll look at different routes in to playing characters; which may include status, physically, animal work and inner tempo. Through scene work, games, exercises, musical underscoring and hot-seating you'll have the chance to dive in to the skin of numerous characters.

Whether you feel like you always play yourself in a scene, tend to resort to the same one or two characters, or whether you simply want to have some fun, this is a great opportunity to take risks, shake things off and be pushed out of your comfort zone!

When : 10am-5pm January 27 2018

Where : Theatre Delicatessen, Broadgate, London

About Susan Harrison:

Susan has been improvising for many years. She is a member of Showstopper! The Improvised Musical and has a character-based improvised duo BEINGS. She’s taken four character shows to the Edinburgh Fringe and has written and performed her own characters for the CBBC sketch show DNN. Her theatre credits include Elephantom (National Theatre) and Peter Pan Goes Wrong (West End). She is currently appearing in the BAFTA Winning series Class Dismissed (CBBC) and is working on a new character show entitled Susan Harrison Is A Bit Weepy.

She has taught for ALRA, Hoopla, Monkeytoast, The Bridge & The Actors Centre and is a firm believer that improv should be fun for the players and fun for the audience.
