Shrewsbury Sew&Sews

Join us for a fabulous in-person event in the workshop room at the back of the store - Abakhan, Market Street, Shrewsbury, UK. Whether you're a sewing enthusiast or just starting out, this event is perfect for you!

Bring an exisiting project or come ready to be inspired for your next project. Meet fellow sewing enthusiasts, exchange tips and tricks, we learn together (note - this is a peer group not a tutored session). We get stuff done and have a lot of fun in the process, everyone is welcome!

Cost: £10 per person.

PLEASE PAY BY CASH OR BANK TRANSFER ON THE DAY.

Please note that we are a not for profit organisation, the charge we make is to cover the cost of the room rental and insurance.

Frequently asked questions

Are there sewing machines at the venue?

Yes, there are sewing machines and overlockers. We will show you how to thread and use them if you need us to.

Can I bring any type of sewing project with me?

Yes! Dressmaking, home furnishings and small furry (stuffed) animals have all appeared so far!

Do I need my own scissors?

There are good quality fabric scissors available, but of course, if you prefer to use your own then you are welcome to bring them along.

What else do I need to bring?

There is pretty much everything you'll need apart from your fabric, thread and patterns. If you are making your own patterns then you will need some pattern paper. You may also want to bring your own pattern weights if you are cutting out.
