Event description

Description

Discover the spectacular splendor of Shrewsbury's Victorian buildings. Join us for a tour around the highlights of Shrewsbury's 19th century delights.

Primarilly a medieval town, with its quirky street layouts, hidden passageways and cobbled streets, we still have an abundence of later modern history for you to enjoy.

Come and take a look at the towns former brick and terracotta hospital. A highly distinguished composition, skilfully articulated in a predominantly High Victorian manner by Ellison of Liverpool 1879-1881

Learn about The Shrewsbury (Kingsland) Bridge Company formed in 1872 and the rather disgruntled Mr Wotton by the infringement of his cabbage patch by the original road plan!

Shrewsbury's Roman Catholic Church is an absolute must see! Designed by Edward Pugin the son of Augustus Pugin and was completed in 1856. It is truely beautiful.

Shrewsbury is special, we just know you will think so too.

Spaces are limited to 20 per tour, so please book your tickets early to avoid dissapointment.
