Can a dead body come back to life?
A mystery for humanity and a challenge for science
We are inviting you to an exciting event. We are proud to announce that Dr Emanuela Marinella, an expert on the Turin Shroud, will give a presentation on the Shroud. Dr Marinella holds doctorates in both Natural and Geological Sciences, and has been involved in the study of the Shroud for over thirty years. She will discuss the research which has been carried out on the shroud.
A full size replica of the Shroud will also be available for viewing.
The Turin Shroud is a linen cloth which bears the image of a man who has been crucified. The Shroud has been the subject of over one thousand scientific investigations and more than 32,000 photos have been taken of it. Although the Church has not declared it to be the burial shroud of Jesus Christ, various Popes have spent time in personal prayer before the Shroud.
Lent is a great time to learn about the Turin Shroud. This is an excellent opportunity to inspire reflection on the Passion of the Lord Jesus and therefore to prepare for Holy Week.
This event will take place on Tuesday 28th March at 7:30pm at Manchester University Catholic Chaplaincy, Avila House, Oxford Rd, M13 9PG.
