Shumei Natural Agriculture hands-on workshop

This hands-on workshop is a part of 2017 Shumei Natural Agriculture learning programme, which consists of 3 sessions of one-day workshop in spring, summer and autumn. This is aimed at farmers/growers and students who wish to try growing food naturally without applying any chemicals, fertilizers and animal manures. On this April session, you will look at the importance of soil; role of composts; basic idea of seed savings. The course consists of lecture/presentation, farm tour and fieldwork. We will provide vegan lunch.
By the end of this course you should be able to...
- Describe the key concepts of Shumei Natural Agriculture
- Understand the role of soil and composts/catch crops
- Understand the importance of seed saving in Natural Agriculture
- Recognise how people’s thoughts would affect plants

How to maintain fields and crops with the concept of “purification”
Part 3 (2nd September):
More detailed concept of seed saving, characteristic of the vegetables grown by Natural Agriculture
