'Side by Side' peer support evaluation report launch - LEEDS
Mon 22 May 2017, 10:45 – 14:00 BST
Invitation to the Leeds launch of the 'Side by Side' national peer support evaluation report
Monday 22nd May, 10:45am to 2pm, St George’s Centre, Leeds LS1 3BR
We would be delighted if you could join us at the local launch of the national ‘Side by Side' evaluation report.
Leeds Mind was a Strategic Partner and local Hub for the Side by Side peer support programme, which involved one of the largest ever studies of community based peer support. This will be the first opportunity to hear the findings and discuss what they mean for Leeds. The research has been led by three evaluation partners: St George's (University of London), The McPin Foundation and London School of Economics.
The research had three elements, all of which will be reported on at this event:
People participating in peer support activities funded by the Side by Side programme (including 10 projects in Leeds) were asked to complete a monthly log, which included questions on their health, wellbeing and lifestyle, and the types of peer support they were using.
There was an extensive series of qualitative interviews to find out the impact of peer support on people’s lives, with a particular focus on BME and rural communities.
An economic analysis, assessing the economic benefits of peer support.
The Leeds launch event will be taking place on Monday 22nd May between 11am and 2pm at St George's Centre in Leeds city centre. During the event we will be hearing about the key findings from the evaluation partners, exploring what the research means for peer support in Leeds, and hearing personal experiences of using local peer support.
Lunch is included. Full details of the programme will be available closer to the date.
If you are able to attend, please book your free place here on Eventbrite today, with details of any access or dietary requirements.
