Tolik is an excellent example of a middle-aged family man who lives an ordinary life and does his best to feed his family, with problems that seem never-ending. He is always in debt - Kazakh weddings and funerals, everything requires money. One day he finds out that his teenage daughter is pregnant. Tolik intends to find out who the father is in order to talk to him about his daughter's future and the couple's plans. With all this on his plate, Tolik gets involved in an absurd adventure which almost costs his friend his life. After experiencing all this hardship he finally understands what the most important things in life are. It is this understanding and acceptance that bring him hope.
