About SIG Penrose Roots: SIG Penrose Roots is our award-winning green community-based recovery service, supporting over 600 people annually across Luton and Bedfordshire. Through therapeutic growing spaces, sustainable workshops, and peer-support groups, we provide accessible platforms for people facing isolation and complex challenges to rebuild their lives.

All Welcome: Whether you are curious about therapeutic gardening, want to support your community, or enjoy a good harvest celebration, we would love to meet you!

Frequently asked questions

How can I donate on the day?

We accept cash donations and contactless payments, and every contribution directly supports our community work.

Can I bring my children?

Unfortunately, no. Due to insurance, we can only accept people aged 18+ at the Roots to Recovery site.

Is this event free to attend?

Yes, entry to our Harvest Festival is completely free. We welcome donations, with all proceeds supporting our community garden and recovery services.

Is the venue accessible?

Our garden site has limited accessible pathways and facilities. Please contact us in advance if you have specific accessibility needs so we can ensure you have the best possible experience.

What happens if it rains?

We have covered areas and indoor spaces available. Our Harvest Festival will go ahead rain or shine - after all, we are gardeners who love being outdoors in all weather!

Is parking available?

There is no parking on-site, only on nearby residential streets. We encourage walking, cycling, or using public transport where possible. The garden is accessible by bus and is a short walk from local residential areas.

How can I learn more about becoming a member or volunteer?

Our team will be available throughout the event to answer questions about our services. You can also visit our information displays or speak with current members who will be happy to share their experiences.

Will I be able to speak with people who use your services?

Many of our members will be present and are happy to share their experiences. Please be respectful and remember that some people may prefer not to discuss personal details.

How can I support the event?

We would love additional support! Please email us at fundraising@socialinterestgroup.org.uk if you would like to help on the day by volunteering or donating.
